The Old Pulteney Row to the Pole

On Sunday morning only minutes from where I live Dad cycled past the Old Pulteney - the rowing boat which is about to embark on a journey to the Magnetic North Pole (certified in 1996). I'm not entirely sure why it was sitting near my house,  a few hundred metres from the Thames - probably due to the fact the expedition leader Jock Wishart lives not far away (apparently)!

This will be a real test of endurance and skill, the expeditions aims to highlight the negative impact of climate change on the Poles - they're melting, people need to realise that! The 450 mile route starts at Resolute Bay and I'm sure the crew will be determined to stop only when they reach the Magnetic North pole.

The best of luck to the crew, what an adventure!
